'The Watchmaker' progress... cogs...

The early stage of making TheWatchmaker really is turning out nicely.  The 7 photos below show how I have made progress with the cog/base part.

Top row, left to right:

1. The cogs hand cut from two card thicknesses.
2. Some of the cogs and the larger cog themed base.
3. First set of cogs glued to main base.
4. Second set of cogs glued over first set.

Bottom row left to right:

5. Main base (cog base not glued)
6. Cogs stained, ready to paint with some mechanism pieces cut and glued.  Base infilled with air-dry clay.  This will be a stone floor.
7. Base sitting on cogs to view, not glued.

And today (Sunday 29th) the exterior walls have been added to..... more cogs!  I have had a change of plan regarding the front and ceiling.  More photos later.....

The Angles - Quarterscale Roobox

Hello Everyone, I'm busy trying to finish 'The Angles' for tomorrows Yahoo groups sale day.  Here is a couple of dodgy photos of it, I'm presently working on the newel posts, shall do some further work to the base and then paint.  This could be a book shelf but I shall leave it empty for whoever buys it so they can display their own ornaments.  Or of course I could add books for them depending on their taste.

Wall Cabinet 1:12 & 1:24 now available to order.....

I have finally had time to take some photos of my wall cabinet which is now available to order in 1:12 and 1:24.  I may attempt 1:48 if asked but I'm not sure if I can cut the lattice work that fine.  I will also try and take some clearer photos, my photography is always hit and miss!

It has a sliding front door and two removable shelves.  Further details are on my For Sale page.

Gadgets, Links & Books.....

Thanks to Jazzi and others I now have some useful gadgets so it is possible to join up, follow me etc.  Thank you kind people!

I would love to link up with other mini Bloggers and shall hound you all later this evening!

Also, I will be making a 1:12 version of 'Books & Banisters' like the Quarterscale one here.  I have never made 1:12 books so this will be fun.  I will start that this evening as well.

What a Day!

I must remind myself, "It's OK, it's Friday".  After finishing, packing then shipping Waterfall Nook I then took lots of photos of Melody's Oak Library kit which will depart for warmer climes tomorrow!  But then after putting it off because of Waterfall Nook I announced to all my friends on all our mini groups about this blog and now I am ready for some Fish & Chips & Mushy Peas!

Waterfall Nook.....

Today I finished Waterfall Nook, a fictitious Quarterscale roombox named by my young daughter Holly.  Colleen kindly allowed me to show you this version which replaced an earlier version which has gone missing in the post.  Later I will add photos of the earlier Waterfall Nook.  Colleen's has been darkly coloured in a way that I have not used for a few years.  Initially the base coat was acrylic brown but I added dark oak wood stain which when applied runs into all the detail nicely.  When it had finally dried I dry brushed some light brown then white acrylics to pick out detail.  The beauty of using stain is that it leaves a realistic sheen which you often get from 400 year old polished oak panelling and it is a technique I will be returning too for good.  I hope you like it.
